From Moseley to Malvern

Although Hello English began in the Birmingham suburb of Moseley, it is now based in the beautiful, quintessentially English spa town of Malvern. The Malvern Hills are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and attract walkers and nature-lovers from around the world, while the town of Great Malvern is renowned for its artistic and musical attractions, as well as for its architecture and theatre. The town itself is medieval in origin and but expanded rapidly in Victorian times, when natural mineral water springs were found in the area.

Malvern is famous for many things, the poetry of Housman, the music of Elgar and the theatre festival established by George Bernard Shaw, but many simply know it as the birthplace of the classic Morgan sports cars, which are still handmade in the town to this day.

“I have enjoyed my stay here without being too busy. We played golf one afternoon, and visited the Morgan sports car factory in Malvern. We have been out for a pub meal, and shopping in the Bullring. Tomorrow, we will be going to watch a match at Moseley Rugby Club. This range of activities has really helped me to use my English as I have been learning it. This has been great . You should try it!”
